- Our attitude towards our visitors whether they are from around the world, across the province or across the street is a key element of service that forms a lasting impression of Abkhazi Garden and TLC. Courtesy, friendliness and professionalism are essential to our success. By sharing the unique and fascinating story of the Abkhazis, we are generating a feeling of connectedness to and appreciation of the Garden. OBJECTIVE To offer a welcoming presence to the Abkhazi house and restaurant. To provide excellent table service for the visitors in the restaurant and outside on the patio. ROLES AND RESPONSIBLITIES Be committed to giving our visitors outstanding customer service. Follow Food Safe practices and the Abkhazi Garden Food Safety Plan. Welcome guests to the house and restaurant, take orders and serve food and beverages. Assist with set up and closing of the restaurant. Work well with other volunteers and TLC staff. Be punctual and neatly groomed for your volunteer shift. Contact a staff member in advance if you are unable to cover your volunteer shift. Record your volunteer hours in the binder provided on site. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Food Safe Level 1 certificate is desired but not required. Able to carry food and beverage trays without difficulty. Must enjoy working with food and serving people. Good verbal communication and multi-tasking skills. Must be comfortable working with other volunteers independent of staff supervision.
