VolWeb.ca™ Newsletter - March 2009   Volunteer: Get work experience, Give back Whether you’re looking for your first job or are in between jobs, volunteering can be beneficial to your career. While many people volunteer to give back to their community, many volunteer to boost their skill set and gain valuable work experience. Volunteering at special events can give valuable work experience for up and coming, event planners, volunteer coordinators, photographers, managers, administrative assistants, sound and lighting work, to name a few. Join the movement to help end MS

The MS WALK is the largest national fund raising event for the MS Society of Canada. This year, on April 4, 160 communities across Canada and with 22 WALKS taking place in BC, will help to bring about awareness of this debilitating disease. The WALK is a family-oriented, community-supported event and involves over 60,000 participants and volunteers. The MS Society is looking for committed and friendly volunteers to help out at the fundraiser on the day of the event. From putting up signs along the route to handing out lunch to returning walkers, there are many positions available for you to make a contribution. Visit The MS Society of Canada, South Vancouver Island Chapter event page to view what volunteers they need for their event.
