Celebrate 2010 Volunteers!
Does February make you yearn for those friendly blue-jacketed volunteers who were the true heroes of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games? February 12, 2011 marks the 1 year anniversary of the 2010 Games. Re-live the Games and "Wear Your Blue Jackets to Celebrate our Olympic and Paralympic Volunteers!"
Volunteer BC is inviting everyone who volunteered for the Games to get their blue jackets out (or any other Olympic volunteer uniform) and wear them with pride, from February 12 to 28.
Submit a photo of you in your Olympic volunteer uniform and share your volunteer experience.
Volunteer BC will select photos to post on their Celebrate the 2010 Olympic Volunteers Blog.

Featured Volunteer - Ron McWilliams
Ron McWilliams has been an active volunteer for over 30 years and makes the most out of enjoying event experiences and working with people.
One of Ron’s most memorable experiences was working at Expo 86 as a shift captain at the Roundhouse and Hologram Gallery. “There were thousands of people from all over the world through the pavilion including 400,000 onsite on the final day.”
That international event experience was only eclipsed by Ron’s involvement at the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games where he was a driver for Molson Hockey House and was in the middle of Seymour Street as thousands of people celebrated Canada’s Hockey Gold.
Learning from every opportunity is Ron’s motto and he has been inspired through volunteering at the Paralympics for Sledge Hockey, the Weekend to End Women’s Cancers, and the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer.
Ron already has a busy schedule for 2011 including the Relay for Life, Brigade Days and the 2011 Grey Cup.
