Thank you for Volunteering!
What an amazing couple of months! The Olympic and Paralympic games were a huge success, in no small part to the tens of thousands of volunteers that supported these events. VolWeb.ca helped connect volunteers with 20 Games related events across the country including torch relay celebrations, Molson Canadian Hockey House, Richmond Ozone, the BC Canada Pavilion and more. We want to take this opportunity to thank all volunteers that participated in the Games, both official VANOC volunteers and all other related events. Each one of you contributed to the success of the Games, and ensured each visitor to our city had a memorable Games time experience.

Winter Games Leaves Volunteers Ready for More
BC Games sees increase in volunteers for the 2010 BC Summer Games after the Olympics and Paralympics. While the Host Community of the Township of Langley began promoting volunteer opportunities for the Games in early March, spikes in the numbers of volunteers registering for the Games started in early February. In 42 days 244 online volunteer registrations were received… an average of 5.81 per day. Generally 5-6 months out from the Games volunteer registration would be 2-5 per week. This can increase in registration can be attributed to community promotion and excitement ... but it seems that some is likely due to the excitement of Games in the province as we come off hosting these two large events. The 2010 BC Summer Games will be held in the Township of Langley July 22-25. For more information about the BC Games and the 2010 BC Summer Games, see the BC Games Society
