Become a Games Time Information Host and welcome the world home to Whistler.
Located throughout Whistler Village, the Games time information kiosk program will provide visitors with the information they need to experience all Whistler has to offer. During the 2010 Winter Games, Information Hosts will play an integral role ensuring visitors feel welcome and have a unique and memorable resort experience. Jointly managed by Tourism Whistler and the Resort Municipality of Whistler, this program aims to provide the best winter games visitor experience ever!
Our Hosts are responsible for providing way finding assistance and information about; Whistler Village services, businesses, and activities as well as 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games operations including venue locations, event details, ticketing and transportation information. The key to being a successful Host volunteer is to have excellent knowledge of Whistler and the surrounding area, a passion for winter sports and the Games, prior customer service experience, the ability to multi-task, and strong problem solving skills. The ability to speak more than one language is considered an asset. Hosts will volunteer for 6.5 hour shifts and an average 9 shifts during the Games (a total commitment of 50 - 59 hours) and be able to attend fall 2009 training.
